Testing Your Cholesterol

Testing your cholesterol is a straightforward process that will provide you with the necessary data to lower your cholesterol.
Testing requires a little preparation, a blood sample, and little to no pain. For best results, we recommend you take the test after fasting for 6 to 8 hours. Most people prefer to take it in the morning before breakfast. You must complete the test in one sitting, you cannot collect blood, leave for 5 minutes then come back and collect more blood - it has to be completed at once.
#1 Hydrate yourself
Hydration helps blood flow; please make sure you drink a glass or two of water before testing.

2. Complete card & register
Fill out the collection card with your name, today’s date, and your date of birth. Then, scan the QR code on the front of this card or visit results.zizi.co/register and enter your kit ID. (Next to the QR code.)

3. Get blood flowing
Warm your hands with hot water or rub them together for a few minutes, then shake your hands below your waist.

4. Choose finger
Wipe on either side of your middle or ring finger tipwith the alcohol wipe.

5. Prick finger
Twist off the lancet cap. (You will not see the needle.) Press the lancet into the side of your finger to puncture the skin. Allow the first drop of blood to drip onto the provided gauze.

6. Collect blood
On just one small square, drip 4-6 drops of blood. Gently squeeze your finger downward to help release more blood; blood will flow to the right of the card. Do not touch the card.

7. Bandaid time
Apply the bandage to your finger.

8. Pack up sample & return
Once the sample appears dry to the touch, put the card into the foil bag and the bag into the return envelope, then mail.

Once our lab receives the sample, it will be tested and you will be notified of your results. Results are typically made available within 2 business days after receiving your sample back.
